The Planning Board Attorney Takes A $25/hour Pay Increase

Claim:  Mayor Ellis Give His Friend Bill Mandry a $25 per hour Pay Increase from $150 to $175 per hour.

Claim rating: Pants on fire

Source of Claim:  This claim was made on a Republican candidate video that was sent out.  This was also sent out on a separate mailer that was sent out.

This claim is totally false and untrue.  Info provided below with documentation also provided as proof that this is a blatant untruth.

William (Bill) Mandry is the current planning board attorney and bills at $150 per hour.  In fact, this is a $25 per hour reduction from the billing rate of the last planning board attorney that served under the previous mayor, Former Mayor Harry Wyant.

We will present documents below that will show that this is untrue, and the documents will be listed in the following order:

  • The first document that will be listed is an invoice from the firm Brach-Eichler LLC, and the attorney is S.R Rubright.  This document will show that the previous attorney, that served under the previous administration of Mayor Harry Wyant bill $175 per hour.  This counters the claim that the previous attorney billed $150 per hour, which was claimed on the Republican mailer.
  • The second document shows that by ordinance, Ord-2017-16, the billing rate for the planning board attorney is set at $150 per hour.
  • The third document shows an invoice from Bill Mandry that proves his bills at a rate of $150 per hour.

Documents listed below:

Invoice below from the firm Brach-Eichler showing a billing rate of $175 per hour for the planning board lawyer in 2015, during the time of the previous Republican administration.
